About Me:
Hi my name is Parker Brown I am a student here at Wh Croxford high school in Airdrie Alberta, and I am in the academy of Mechatronics. Mechatronics for those of you who don't know is an academy based on technologies, mechanics, and programming. Before I joined Mechatronics or knew about it I had a passion for technology but didn't ever see myself doing it as a job but, when my sister Grace Brown enlisted into skills Canada for a competition my family and I all went to support her. While I was there I was surrounded by hundreds of trades that I tried out and it sparked an interest in me for/ mechanics, robotics, technology, and programming.
The main reason I joined Mechatronics though was because I found it Interesting and new and a fresh take on learning in a classroom. I was also very excited to hear about this program when they announced that the students in academy will get to do a passion project for the other half of the year. Personally I am a hands on learner and felt that it would be a great place for me to learn over the year and greater my understanding and knowledge.
Some future career goals I would like to accomplish is to become either a software engineer, a mechanic engineer, a Mechatronics engineer, or a electrical engineer and this academy is helping me do that by creating building blocks and a foundation to go off of and help me achieve these goals. Mechatronics has created this amazing environment where there is collaboration, communication and lots of team work I love working in this space with all of my friends and peers and has made me value this academy greatly.
